2. Special Events

a) CANADIAN FILMMAKERS’ FESTIVAL
July 15th to July 18th
The Royal Cinema, Toronto
http://www.canfilmfest.ca/

The first annual Canadian Filmmakers' Festival is set to begin on July
15th. The only Toronto film festival held solely to celebrate Canadian
filmmaking talent, this event will showcase a wide variety of new
Canadian films and is being held in association with Film Circuit, a
division of the Toronto International Film Festival Group.

There are a great number of Canadian films produced every year. Yet
there are few events held that provide an opportunity for filmmakers,
actors, crew members and film fans to enjoy them. So come out and
support a truly Canadian event!

All screenings are being held at the Royal Cinema, 608 College Street
West (4 1/2 blocks west of Bathurst, between Clinton and Grace).

Individual tickets are $10 plus tax and are available at the box office on
the day of screenings. Festival Passes (good for all screenings) are $60
plus tax and are available by calling 416.846.3378.

For further details and to see the full list of scheduled screenings,
please see the official website at http://www.canfilmfest.ca.

Remember...1st Rule of Film Club: Tell Everyone About Film Club!

Thirty-seven years and still going strong, THIS Magazine is one of
Canada's longest-publishing alternative journals. Founded by a gang of
school activists in 1966, and originally called This Magazine Is About
Schools, the modern-day THIS focuses on Canadian politics, literature
and culture but, in keeping with its radical roots, never pulls punches.
Subversive, edgy and smart, THIS is the real alternative to that.
