b) Cinematheque Ontario presents...
DRACULA: PAGES FROM A VIRGIN'S DIARY
Tuesday, March 29th at 8:15 p.m.
Cinematheque Ontario, AGO's Jackman Hall, 317 Dundas St. West, Toronto (McCaul Street entrance)
In this highly original rendering of the great vampire classic, Guy Maddin captures all the undercurrents of passion, eroticism, and danger in Bram Stoker's novel. A transposition of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's stage interpretation, DRACULA: PAGES FROM A VIRGIN'S DIARY is an odyssey of oneiric intensity, a luscious symphony of sound, colour, and form whose combined elements create an intoxicating result: haunting choreographies of movement and dance, stark imagery (blood-red hues splashed against black-and-white cinematography), and exquisite music by Gustav Mahler. Shown with the permission of Domino Films, Montréal.
All Cinematheque Ontario screenings are held at the Art Gallery of Ontario's Jackman Hall, 317 Dundas St. West, Toronto (McCaul Street entrance). Regular tickets are $6 for Members; $5.50 for Student Members and Seniors; and $10.10 for Non-Members. All screenings are restricted to individuals 18 years of age or older. Check out great videos by SPIKE JONZE, MICHEL GONDRY and a new short by JARED HESS, director of NAPOLEON DYNAMITE. You can also see the new film, AUTO DESTRUCT: ONE MAN'S OBSESSION WITH WILLIAM SHATNER. AUTO DESTRUCT is a bizarre, comic and often tragic look into the world of Bob, a man desperately unhappy in his own skin. Director James Wilkes takes the audience on a tour through a strange, unexplored corner of the Sci-Fi fandom universe populated by murderous thoughts, wigged out fans, singing Klingons, Greco-Roman wrestling and an obese transvestite Trekkie. What he ultimately shows us however is that Bob is the strangest, saddest creature of all.

Remember...1st Rule of Film Club: Tell Everyone About Film Club!
Thirty-eight years and still going strong, THIS Magazine is one of Canada's longest-publishing alternative journals. Founded by a gang of school activists in 1966, and originally called This Magazine Is About Schools, the modern-day THIS focuses on Canadian politics, literature and culture but, in keeping with its radical roots, never pulls punches. Subversive, edgy and smart, THIS is the real alternative to that. Visit THIS Magazine's new-and-improved website http://www.thismagazine.ca!
